co-facilitated with her herd of horses
I started Equi-Formed Therapy because the experience I have working with horses and the education I have in human psychology unify well in being able to provide an innovative service of developing people emotionally, cognitively and socially through working with horses. In today's society, one needs to be able to gain the tools to empower ourselves and provide the opportunity for our children to do the same and this is what is achieved at Equi-Formed Therapy. I have always wanted to make a difference and in this way, I can."
"Horses and people are a great passion of mine and being able to bring the two together in order to create healing and empowerment has been a dream come true. From 8 years old, horses have formed a huge part of my life. I grew up competing in Dressage, Show Jumping and Equitation and since then have developed a more natural approach to working with horses, which brings out the best in both equine and human. In 2012, I completed my Bachelors Degree, cum laude, majoring in Psychology and Communications. In 2013 I started doing my studies and research in Equine Facilitated Therapies and Activities and spent some time in USA gaining valuable experience in the field, working with youth at risk, adults and children with mental and learning difficulties, family groups, and the elderly with disorders such as dementia and Parkinson's disorder and individuals in rehab facilities. In 2014 I became an Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning with the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International and in 2015 I completed my Honours Degree in Psychology.
